Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sweet Tea

I love sweet tea during the summer months. Like, seriously love it. Nothing seems to quench your thirst on a hot summer day like a glass of perfectly sweetened tea. Maybe that’s just the Southerner in me coming out. I’ve had a slight love affair going on with Chick-Fil-A’s sweet tea since I was in high school; it’s one of the few fast food restaurants whose tea doesn’t taste like straight up sugar water.

Over the weekend, my husband and I stopped and grabbed lunch at Chick-Fil-A during a busy day of apartment hunting. After we got our food and drinks and had a seat, he took a sip of his tea and said “hey, this tastes like your tea!” Apparently I’ve making copycat Chick-Fil-A sweet tea for well over a year and didn’t even realize it! If you love sweet tea as much as I do, this copycat Chick-fil-A sweet tea is right up your alley!

Chick-Fil-A Copycat Sweet Tea

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 2 quarts

  • 2 Lipton Family Size Tea Bags
  • 4 cups of hot, not boiling, water
  • Simple syrup (3/4 cup of water + 3/4 cup of sugar)

  1. Put teabags in the bottom of a 2 quart pitcher and pour 4 cups of hot water over them.
  2. Let the teabags steep for 15 minutes.
  3. While tea is steeping, start making your simple syrup. Add 3/4 cups of water and 3/4 cups of sugar of sugar to small pot. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved.
  4. After 15 minutes, remove your tea bags and add your simple syrup. Fill remainder of your pitcher with cold water.
  5. Chill & enjoy!

Couldn’t be easier, right? I don’t know if the recipe varies between Chick-fil-a locations, but my copycat Chick-fil-a sweet tea recipe is a dead ringer for the Chick-fil-a my husband and I frequent. If you’re a fan of their sweet tea, I hope you give my recipe a try!

This recipie is great! Thank you so much for sharing! Tastes just like Chick-Fil-a! I was afraid to steep for 15 minutes because I thought it would be to strong. 15 minutes was perfect not to strong at all!

Hi, what kind of Lipton tea bags do I get? Regular iced tea ones? The iced tea Southern sweet tea ones? Or a different kind?

  3. Clay says

Thank you! This tea is amazing!! I used 8 regular Lipton bags instead of 2 fam-sized. How hot do you get the water? Like “from the tap” hot or “from the Keurig” hot? ..or almost boiling?
